I have had this same issue though on MacBooks from 2006, to MacBook Pros from 2013, and either drying the sides with paper, or letting it sit always works. In the unlikely case that you did damage your trackpad, you may need to replace it. again changed the trackpad hardware on the new (October 2006) MacBook Pro models. If nothing works, let it sit for a day or two, that normally will fix the problem. SideTrack users had advanced trackpad functionality years before Apple. I expect to have a fix available shortly. The good news is that the changes appear to be very minor.

This prevents SideTrack 1.4.1 from working on these machines. If the problem still occurs, then you might want to take out your battery and see if there is any water under the trackpad. In what is becoming a all-to-familiar situation, Apple has once again changed the trackpad hardware on the new (October 2006) MacBook Pro models (Core 2 Duo). If it does get wet, just use another corner and go around again. I usually let the trackpad dry out, but somethings it helps if you take a piece of paper, stick the edge in between the trackpad and the palm rest, and run it around the sides of the trackpad gently. Point the folder in 1 for location of new driver. Then right click on the trackpad device chose update driver -> choose location on the computer -> then.
